Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 has provided aid and assistance to the cyclone-affected residents of Koyra in Khulna and Mongla in Bagerhat, following the devastating impact of Cyclone Remal.
The information was shared in a notification sent from RAB-6 Khulna office on Tuesday night.
On May 26 and 27, Cyclone Remal caused extensive damage in coastal areas of Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira, leaving many including farmers and workers helpless.
Before the cyclone`s landfall, RAB-6, in collaboration with local administrations and community leaders, alerted residents and actively participated in rescue operations.
Following the cyclone, RAB-6 initiated distribution efforts, providing essential supplies including rice, pulses, flour, oil, beaten rice, jaggery, saline, and potable water to cyclone victims in Mongla and Koyra.
In addition, the mobile medical team of RAB is providing necessary medical services to the cyclone victims.
The assistance efforts aim to mitigate the impact of food shortages, water scarcity, and the spread of water-borne diseases exacerbated by Cyclone Remal`s aftermath.
