A Dhaka court on Monday has set April 16 next for submitting probe report in a murder case filed over the deaths of Awami League leader Jahidul Islam Tipu and college student Samia Afran Jamal Prity in Dhaka on March 24 last year.
Monday was fixed for submitting the probe report, but the investigation officer of the case failed to submit the report.
March 24, 2022, Tipu was shot dead by a masked assailant in the capital’s Shahjahanpur area.
College student, Samia Afran Jamal Prity, 22, rickshaw passenger was also killed in the incident.
Tipu’s wife Farhana Islam Dolly filed the case with Shahjahanpur Police station on March 25.
Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested key accused Masum Mohammad alias Akash from Bogura. During primary interrogation, Masum confessed about the murder.
Police have so far arrested 25 in connection with the killings. However, three of the accused got bail from High Court.
