The first day of Eid holiday begins from today. However, since the end of the office yesterday, many have started traveling home. A record amount of vehicles has been crossed using the Bangabandhu Bridge in this journey collecting a toll of almost 3 crore 60 lakhs.
This toll is collected from 12:00 PM on Tuesday to 8:00 AM on Wednesday.
According to the bridge authorities, a record number of vehicles have crossed the bridge in the last 32 hours. Among them, private cars were more. In the last 32 hours, 41 thousand and 251 vehicles passed through the two toll plazas of the bridge. Among them, the number of motorcycles was 2 thousand and 700.
In the last 24 hours, 2 crore 44 lakh 21 thousand and 550 taka have been collected against 30 thousand and 251 vehicles.
Bangabandhu Bridge Executive Engineer, Ahsanul Kabir Pavel told the media that a record amount of toll was collected on the bridge on the first day of the holiday.
