BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu made a strong statement on Saturday morning, declaring that there can be no compromise with those who deny the significance of the 1952 language movement and the 1971 Liberation War.
Bulu was speaking at an event held outside the BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan.
He said,
"We cannot compromise with those who reject 1952 and 1971. Those who deny the Liberation War and the language movement, and who wish to turn back to 1947, we will not make any deals with them. Our independence, which was won with the blood of 30 lakh people, cannot be compromised. Those who deny the events of 1971 are not true citizens of this country; they do not love the nation."
Bulu also addressed the topic of students forming political parties, saying,
"There is no objection if students want to open not just one, but even ten political parties. Let them participate in elections, and the people will decide through their votes who should win."
In his closing remarks, Bulu made an appeal to the Chief Advisor, urging for quick elections.
"Hold elections quickly. Regardless of the number of seats we win, we will form a national government," he added.
