BNP’s senior joint secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has raised concerns, saying that the current interim government is beginning to show similarities with the 1/11 government.
His statement came while he was speaking at a Milad and Dua Mahfil event at the BNP office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka, on Saturday morning.
Rizvi criticized the government`s decision to organize local government elections ahead of the national polls. He also accused Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of trying to erase the Zia family`s legacy from history.
According to Rizvi, this political revenge contributed to the death of Arafat Rahman Koko, as he was denied the opportunity to seek medical treatment abroad.
Rizvi urged the interim government to hold national elections quickly, stressing that the people have been denied their right to a democratic vote for the past 16 years.
