BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has blamed the failure of the government over the deadly fire at Sitakunda of Chattogram.
He came up with the remark while exchanging views with jounalists at Thakurgaon press club on Sunday.
Expressing deep condolence over the fire victims Mirza Fakhrul said, “The failure of the government is utterly responsible for the accident. The government only promotes the development of ports, but never speaks about the fragile situation inside the port.”
“The government also failed to provide proper healthcare facilities to the burn-inured, to tackling the incident and to ensure safety for people.”
The BNP leader said, “The countrymen have decided that the sovereignty, democracy and existence of the country will be in jeopardy if the Awami League government is not ousted. BNP will only take part in the election if it is held under neutral non-partisan government.”
