Election Commission (EC) Secretary Jahangir Alam has announced the deployment of two to four platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) to ensure security. Alam conveyed this decision to reporters following a crucial meeting on law and order held with the field administration on Thursday, April 25.
Discussing the groundwork undertaken by the administration at the grassroots level for the elections, Alam emphasized the appointment of a magistrate in each union to uphold fairness, freedom, and impartiality during the electoral process.
"The field administration has encountered no embarrassing situations regarding the breach of the code of conduct thus far," remarked EC Jahangir Alamgir.

Officials from various districts presented assessments of their areas, identifying requirements for additional forces in certain regions. Moreover, they pledged to discharge their duties impartially, akin to their responsibilities during national elections.
The discussions took place during a comprehensive meeting at the Agargaon election building auditorium, attended by Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, Deputy Commissioners, Regional Election Officers, and Superintendents of Police.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal chaired the session, with participation from Election Commissioners, Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat, and relevant officers.
