There seems to be no respite in the number of covid-infected deaths at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). New deaths are being logged everyday, skyrocketing the tally of fatalities at the hospital. The number of infections are also on the rise. Doctors and nurses are stuggling to provide care at the division`s largest Covid-19 facility - RMCH.
Till Thursday 8:00 am (June 24), in a 24-hour count 18 new fatalities due to coronavirus were registered at RMCH, from the hospital`s COVID facility and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). On Wednesday (June 23), 16 deaths againt covid was logged in a 24-hour count. Earlier on Tuesday (June 22), 13 deaths were registered. 13 people died on Monday (June 21).
With this, in the last 31 days from May 24 till June 24, coronavirus claimed 298 lives at the hospital`s covid facility and ICU.
This latest development was shared by RMCH authorities in their routine coronavirus report with the press on Thursday morning.
Out of the 18 lives covid claimed, 13 were from Rajshahi, 4 hailed from Naogaon, 1 from Chapainawabganj, according to the RMCH daily report. Of the deceased, 10 were COVID positive. Of them, 7 were from Rajshahi, and 1 from Chapainawabganj. Ther others were admitted to the hospital with symptoms of the virus.
There fatalities were registered between Wednesday 8:00 am (June 23) till Thursday 8:00 am (June 24), mentioned the report.
