Popular content creator Karina Kaiser, daughter of former Bangladesh national football team star footballer Kaiser Hamid, has been placed on life support as her condition worsened, with her family now trying to take her abroad for advanced treatment.
A social media post by content creator Dana Bhai said Karina had been suffering from fever for the past week. She was later admitted to Evercare Hospital Dhaka after she fell unconscious in the capital.
\Doctors said she was diagnosed with hepatitis A and E, which led to complications resulting in liver failure.
Speaking in a Facebook Live on Saturday night, Kaiser Hamid shared details of his daughter’s condition.
“My elder daughter Karina Kaiser suddenly fell ill four to five days ago. She already had a fatty liver problem. Later, hepatitis A was detected. As her condition worsened, she was taken to the ICU. Last night, as her breathing problems increased, doctors placed her on life support,” he said.
He said doctors had advised the family to take Karina abroad as Bangladesh does not have a full-fledged liver transplant facility.
“Despite having so many big hospitals, I did not know there was no liver transplant setup. We may be forced to take her abroad,” he said.
Calling the treatment costs extremely high, the former footballer sought prayers from well-wishers and urged people to be more aware of fatty liver disease.
Family members said efforts are underway to take Karina to India for treatment.
Fans and well-wishers have also posted messages on social media praying for her recovery.
Karina has also worked in showbiz and appeared alongside actress Prarthana Fardin Dighi in the film 36-24-36. She has since remained primarily active in online content creation and digital platforms.
