Coke Studio Bangla is back in rhythm after a hiatus of over a year. The third season resumed with Hashim Mahmud’s “Baji,” followed by the release of “Long Distance Love,” sung by Onkon Kumar and Sheikh Mumtahina Mehjabin.
The next anticipated release features renowned musician Habib Wahid with his new track “Jadu”, which will also include a segment performed by Tajikistani singer Mehrnigar Rustam. The song is set to premiere today on the official Coke Studio Bangladesh YouTube channel.
Coke Studio Bangladesh teased the release on their Facebook page last Tuesday night, writing, “The magic of music continues this season. Who will bring the next spell with ‘Jadu’?” Fans have expressed excitement, though the studio did not immediately reveal the artist.
According to a source at Coke Studio Bangladesh, “Jadu” is sung and arranged musically by Habib Wahid. The song draws on the traditional lyrics and melody by Baul Shah Khwaja Miah: “Lagaya piriter duri, alga thaki tanere, amar bondhu moha jadu jane” — a popular classic previously performed by many artists. This time, Coke Studio listeners will hear the timeless magic of Baul Shah Khwaja Miah’s composition presented in Habib’s signature style.
Notably, a portion of “Jadu” is in French, performed by Mehrnigar Rustam, adding an international dimension to the track.
This marks the sixth song of Coke Studio Bangladesh’s third season. After two successful seasons, the third season launched its first song, “Tanti,” on Pohela Boishakh 2024, followed by “Ma Lo Ma” on May 3, and “Obak Bhalobasha” by the Warfaze band on May 25. The season’s activity had paused until now, making “Jadu” a highly anticipated release.
