Martial arts legend and global cinema icon Jackie Chan is set to be honoured with the prestigious Career Achievement Award—Pardo alla Carriera—at the 78th Locarno Film Festival, scheduled to run from August 6 to 16, 2025. The announcement was made by the festival organisers on Tuesday.
Celebrated as Asia’s top-grossing action star in the 1990s, Jackie Chan has left an indelible mark on global cinema not only through his acting but also as a director, producer, choreographer, and stuntman.
His iconic films such as The Fearless Hyena (1979), Police Story (1985), and Who Am I (1998) have redefined the genre of martial arts cinema.
The recognition comes a year after Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan made history by becoming the first Indian recipient of the same lifetime achievement honour at the 77th edition of the festival.
