The audio launch of South Indian movie superstar Rajinikanth`s next movie Jailer, which took place in Chennai on Friday at Nehru Stadium, saw him being his open self.
The popular actor from Tamil Nadu talked openly about his drinking issue, calling it his biggest mistake. The Tamil celebrity urged his followers to drink sensibly rather than carelessly, reports the Indian Express.
“If there was no alcohol in my life, I would have served the society. Alcoholism is the biggest mistake in life,” he was quoted as saying. He also added that if not for alcohol, he would have done far better in life and become a bigger star than he is today.
In his 2018 movie Kaala, Rajinikanth tackled the problem of alcoholism. In the movie, his character loses his wife because he was irresponsible after drinking. That was the first time the performer, who had previously utilized smokes and booze as fashion statements, portrayed them negatively.
In addition to Rajinikanth, Jailer also has prominent roles for Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, Vasanth Ravi, and Tamannaah.
On August 10, the movie will be screened in theaters. The soundtrack for the Sun Pictures-produced movie was written by Anirudh Ravichander, who previously did the score for Rajini`s Petta.
