Aminul Islam becomes BCB president

Aminul Islam, a former national team captain, has been elected as the new president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

After two days of dramatic twists and turns, the expected outcome finally unfolded on Friday after Aminul was picked to replace Faruque Ahmed as the head of the country‍‍`s governing body for cricket at a board meeting on Friday.

The meeting began with the National Sports Council (NSC) officially naming him as a BCB director. The board members subsequently elected Aminul as president through a vote. 

Aminul becomes the 16th president of the BCB. Like his predecessors Nazmul Hassan and Faruque Ahmed, he was elected unopposed.

The 57-year-old has spent many years working as a development manager for the International Cricket Council (ICC).
