Tigers back on field after 10 months

The Bangladesh cricket team is back to the international cricket scene for the first time since a lengthy pause due to the ongoing pandemic. On it’s first battle, the Tigers led by Tamim Iqbal will face the West Indies. This match is Tamim’s first ODI as skipper. The West Indies team comprises of 6 debutants.

Pacer Hasan Mahmud made his debut for the Tigers. A light drizzle halted the match at Mirpur- Sher-e Bangla stadium at Dhaka for a while. Upon winning the toss, Tamim decided to bowl first. This ODI is Tamim’s first ODI as skipper. Furthermore, this ODI marks the year-long ban on Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan.

Both teams are competing to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
