Advisor Asif vows to honor the sacrifices of July Movement Martyrs

Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, the Advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, expressed his commitment to ensuring that the sacrifices made by the martyrs of the July Movement are not forgotten. 

In a post on his verified Facebook account on Monday, he emphasized that this responsibility is one of the most important duties he holds.

Reflecting on the events of the July Movement, Asif Mahmud wrote, "The people of Bangladesh as a whole made the mass uprising successful. It was the leadership of the students and the public, who, with an unwavering spirit to give their lives for the country, stood in front of the guns and caused the fall of the fascists."

He also highlighted how personally meaningful it was for him to be involved in such a pivotal moment in Bangladesh‍‍`s history, stating, "Being able to be a small part of that historic struggle is the greatest achievement of my life."

According to the advisor, the thousands of martyrs who gave their lives during the movement must not be forgotten, and ensuring their sacrifices were not in vain is now his main responsibility. 

"As long as I live, my main responsibility will be to ensure that the sacrifices of the thousands of martyrs do not go in vain," he affirmed.

Asif Mahmud’s remarks come at a time when the legacy of the July Movement continues to resonate with the people of Bangladesh, reminding them of the courage and resilience shown during that critical period in the nation‍‍`s history.
