Nobel laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus stated that attacks on people are part of a larger conspiracy.
"We must protect every citizen and guide anyone who strays back to the right path," he came up with this remark during a press conference at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka upon his arrival from France.
Addressing the youth, Professor Yunus declared, "The country is now in your hands. You have liberated it, and it is your responsibility to rebuild it according to your vision. This freedom you have achieved must be safeguarded at all costs."
He went on saying, "The benefits of this freedom should reach every corner of the country, or it will be meaningless."
"If you choose not to heed my words, please relieve me, and I will focus on my own work," he added.
He pledged to restore public trust in the governance system.
Dr Yunus was welcomed by Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, the heads of the other armed forces, leaders from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Chief Executive Officer of the election observation group “Brotee” - Sharmeen Murshid, and various civil society representatives.
Earlier, 84-year old Nobel peace laureate was proposed as the chief of interim government upon ousting of Sheikh Hasina. The recommendation made by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement which spearhead the quota movement last month and finally demanded resignation of Awami League led government headed by the latter.
