The airlines have announced a total of 335 flights for the pilgrims this year. Total 1,27,197 people from Bangladesh can go to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj. Out of this, 15 thousand under government management and 1,12,198 under private management are scheduled to go for Hajj.
According to the Haj agreement between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, half of the pilgrims will be flown by Biman Bangladesh Airlines and the other half by Saudi Arabian flag carrier Saudia and Flynas of Saudi Arabia.
Biman will operate 168 flights to reach Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, Saudia and Flynas will take Hajj pilgrims on 115 and 52 flights respectively.
According to Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the first flight of Biman will depart from Dhaka to Jeddah at 9:45 p.m on May 21. Biman`s last flight to Saudi will be on June 22. Apart from this, the return flight of the aircraft will start from July 2 to bring the pilgrims back to the country.
On the other hand, Saudia`s first flight will fly from Dhaka to Jeddah on May 25. The return flight will start on July 2. Also, first flight of Flynas will take off on May 21 and the return flight will start on July 2.
However, due to technical errors or unforeseen reasons, the flight schedule may be changed or canceled at any time, according to the airlines.
Even though everything has gone well for Hajj, 1,19,695 people have registered so far. As many as 7,502 more pilgrims will be required to fulfill the quota.
