Govt monitoring banned AL’s activities abroad: Shafiqul

The government is closely monitoring the activities of the banned Awami League abroad, as they may attempt to create instability in Bangladesh, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said on Sunday.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy on the Chief Adviser’s upcoming Malaysia visit, he said further details would be shared after gathering more information.

On the use of body-worn cameras in the upcoming election, Alam said the devices—equipped with AI—will allow SPs and OCs to monitor polling centers remotely and respond quickly to any law and order issues.

Chief Adviser Mohammad Yunus has instructed that the cameras be procured urgently to ensure free and fair elections and safeguard all 47,000 polling centers.
