The sale of advance return train tickets for Eid-ul-Fitr will start from tomorrow. The tickets will be sold for 6 days from 8 am on Saturday (April, 15).
According to railway information, among the advance return tickets, April 25 tickets will go on sale on April 15, April 26 tickets on April 16, April 27 tickets on April 17, April 28 tickets on April 18, April 29 tickets on April 19, and April 30 tickets on April 20.
53 passenger coaches (40 MGs from Pahartali Workshop and 4 MGs and 9 BGs, a total of 13) are expected to be used in the service. In order to meet the increased demand, a total of 218 locomotives (116 from the eastern region and 102 from the western region) will be used in passenger trains.
This time during Eid-ul-Fitr, about one and a half million people are expected to go out of Dhaka including Dhaka North and South and Gazipur and Narayanganj City Corporation. 60 percent of which will travel by road. The remaining 40 percent will be going by sea and rail.
From April 7 to April 11, railways sold advance tickets (from Dhaka) for Eid journey. There will be nine sets of special trains operational during Eid.
