A man has been killed after an Anabil Paribahan bus hit him in Rampura area.
The incident took place around 10:30pm Monday night in front of Sonali Bank in DIT road.
Details of the victim could not be known immediately.
Police and witnesses said, an angry mob set several buses bus on fire. Police came to the spot to bring the situation in control.
Police said, the mob held a transport worker while he was fleeing the spot. He is likely to be the driver.
“A pedestrian was killed in the spot after a Sayedabad-bound Anabil bus hit him. We are trying to bring the situation under control. The deceased is yet to be identified,” Officer in Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam of Rampura police station told media.
