A court has issued an arrest warrant for Shakib Al Hasan, the former captain of Bangladesh`s national cricket team and a former Member of Parliament.
This decision was made on Sunday, January 19, 2025.
The arrest warrant is related to a case involving a dishonored cheque from IFIC Bank.
Along with Shakib, two other people have also had arrest warrants issued in connection with this case.
Earlier, on December 18, 2024, the court had summoned Shakib and three others.
This order was made by Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Mahbubul Haque at the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court.
The other individuals named in the case are Gazi Sahgir Hossain, Imdadul Haque, and Maleka Begum.
According to documents related to the case, it was filed on December 15, 2024, regarding a dishonored cheque worth 4 crore 14 lakh 57 thousand taka.
The court had instructed the accused to appear in court on January 18, 2025.
With this latest order, the court has again instructed Shakib and the other accused to show up in court.
The court had earlier warned that arrest warrants might be issued if the accused didn’t comply.
As a result, arrest warrants have now been issued for all those involved.
