Due to the impact of Cyclone Rimal, metro rail services from Karwan Bazar to Motijheel have been halted for nearly three hours since the afternoon. Solar panels and trees fell on the metro rail tracks, causing the disruption.

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the regulatory authority for metro rail, announced this information on their Facebook page at 6:40 PM on Monday.

"DMTCL posted, "Currently, the metro rail is operating regularly from Uttara to Karwan Bazar. Due to the storm, tree branches have fallen on the viaduct between Shahbagh and Secretariat metro stations, and solar panels have fallen in the area adjacent to Motijheel station. As a result, the metro rail service in this section is temporarily suspended. Efforts are underway to resume service shortly."

Earlier on Monday morning, when Cyclone Rimal brought rain and stormy weather to Dhaka, metro rail operations were disrupted for about two hours due to power supply issues.

After resuming, the metro rail service operated intermittently until the afternoon.
