Dr. Murad Hasan, former state miniser for information and broadcasting left Dhaka for Canada in the early hours of Friday (December 10).
However, since Friday night there is a flurry of speculations on social media platforms whether he was able to enter the country or not.
Toronto-based Bangla language newspaper Notun Desh said that he was barred from entering Canada after a long perioud of interrogation by Canadian immigration services.
Henceforth, he flew to a country in the Middle-east.
Sources close to the former state minister also confirmed the matter.
However, on Saturday (December 11), Ambassador Khalilur Rahman said they have no information on whether he has entered or denied to enter or his whereabouts in Canada.
Earlier on Thursday (December 9), at 8:50 pm, Murad entered the VIP lounge of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, and then boarding Emirates flight (EK-8585) he left for Canada at 12:56 am on Friday. According to Notun Desh, Murad landed at Toronto's Pearsons International Airport at 1:31 pm local time.
