A tire of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft on Dhaka-Kolkata route got burst. Pilot came to understand after departure of the flight from Kolkata.
The passengers narrowly escaped a major accident as the Biman's Dash 8 aircraft landed under special arrangments at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Group Captain Mohammad Kamrul Islam, Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport confirmed this on Monday.
He said that Biman flight BG 392 from Kolkata was returning to Dhaka in the morning. The flight landed at Shahjalal International Airport at 10:05 am with one of the rear wheels burst.
Mohammad Kamrul Islam said that although the tire burst, there was no damage or casualty due to the skill of the pilot and other rear wheels.
Shahjalal airport authority said that there were 72 passengers in the plane.
According to airport sources, the aircraft is a dash 8-400 model. The tire of the right-sided wheels got burst during taking off from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport of Kolkata.
