EC will give updates in every 2 hours

As the voting in Dhaka-17 by-election has started on Monday around 8am which would continue till4 pm, the election commission (EC) has informed that the overall situation of the vote will be informed to the journalists in every 2 hours.

Informing the matter, EC‍‍`s Public Relations Director Md Ashadul Haque told the journalists, “Voting updates will be served to the journalists at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.”

Meanwhile, as part of keeping an eye on this election, the election commissioners were secretly monitoring this vote through CC cameras from the Agargaon election building‍‍`s basement-2 where journalists are not allowed to enter.

According to sources, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal, Election Commissioner Brigadier General Md Ahsan Habib Khan, Rasheda Sultana, Anisur Rahman and senior EC officials were present at the CCTV monitoring room.

For the first time Kazi Habibul Awal-led commission is conducting vote using ballot paper through Dhaka-17 constituency by-polls.
