Employees of a garments carried out protest by blocking the roads in Banani of the capital to protest the closure of the garment factory that caused severe traffic jams on the road.
The garment workers started the protest from 8:30am on Saturday (May 4).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Banani Police Station Kazi Sahan Haque said, “The workers are protesting against the closure of the factory. They blocked the road in front of Sainik Club from 8:30 am. Due to this protest, severe traffic jam has been created on almost all the roads from Mahakhali to the airport. I contacted the owner of the factory. They will discuss with the workers when they come to the spot. Efforts are underway to normalize the road."
