Govt forms committee to review BSc and diploma engineers’ demands

The government has formed a committee to examine the professional demands of BSc and diploma holders in the engineering sector and make recommendations. The announcement comes amid ongoing protests by engineering students.

The notification was issued on Wednesday by the Cabinet Division.

The committee will be chaired by Adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, with members including Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Engineers Mohammad Rezaul Islam, Mohammad Kabir Hossain, Tanvir Manzur, and Kazi Mohammad Mozammel Haque, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration.

The committee is tasked with assessing the legitimacy of the demands raised by BSc and diploma engineers and submitting a report with recommendations to the government within one month.

It has the authority to co-opt new members if necessary. The Ministry of Public Administration will provide secretarial support to the committee.
