Two more children have died with measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours, while another 1,019 children have been affected by measles and measles-related symptoms during the same period.
The information was revealed in a measles situation report published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
According to the report, although two children died with measles-like symptoms in the last 24 hours, no deaths were confirmed to have been caused by measles.
From March 15 to Tuesday, a total of 753 children have died with measles-like symptoms across the country. During the same period, 96 children have died from confirmed measles infections. In total, 849 children have died from measles and measles-related symptoms.
The report said 123 children tested positive for measles in the past 24 hours, while 896 children showed measles-like symptoms. During this period, 865 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 998 children were discharged after receiving treatment.
According to DGHS data, the number of suspected measles cases in the country has reached 131,946 since March 15. Of these, 16,531 cases have been confirmed as measles infections.
During the same period, 114,393 patients have been admitted to hospitals, while 110,187 have recovered and returned home after treatment.
