A Dhaka court has placed Henolux Group Managing Director Nurul Amin and his wife Fatema Amin on a two-day remand each in a case filed over the death by suicide of a former Bangladesh Chhatra League leader.
Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mostafa Reza Nur passed the order after the couple were produced before with a seven-day remand prayer against them.
They were arrested the couple from a flat in the capital's Uttara on Tuesday night after a case was filed against them over the death of the BCL leader-cum-contractor.
Earlier in the day, the brother of the victim Gazi Anisur Rahman, who died yesterday morning of burn injuries, filed a case against the couple with Shahbagh Police Station.
The 50-year-old businessman from Kumarkhali, Kushtia, set himself on fire in front of Jatiya Press Club in the capital on June 4 after losing the money he had invested in a company owned by Amin.
He died yesterday morning at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery where he was taken with 90 percent of his body burnt.
