Metro Rail service was disrupted for about an hour this afternoon after a kite landed on the power lines.
According to Nazmul Hossain Bhuiyan, the deputy general manager (admin) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL), the metro rail service was temporarily interrupted around 1:55 p.m. because of a kite fell on the power cable.
Around 10 minutes later the services had resumed, he said.
No metro rail train has traveled through the capital`s Farmgate area from 1:30 pm to 1:55 pm. A train on the Uttara- bound line passed through the area around 1:55 pm.
MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd, said, "We have to check about the incident. But we knew that many people are flying kites."
