The high court has barred suspension of teachers in school, college and Madrasa more than six months.
A HC bench of justice M Enayetur Rahim and justice Md. Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Thursday settling a rule to this connection.
A teacher in Magura school, Badsha Mia, has been remaining suspended for 14 years. The court came up with the judgment as Badsha Mia field a writ petition.
In the verdict the court said, if any teacher of school, college and Madrasa remains suspended for more than six months it will be canceled by default.
Advocate Humayun Kabir participated in the hearing as lawyer of the petitioner while deputy attorney general Bipul Bagmar represented the prosecution.
