Offices have to run operations with half of the capacity from 24 January to 6 February in a bid to contain the coronavirus infection.
A gazette notification signed by the senior secretary of the cabinet division was issued on Sunday in this regard.
According to the gazette, all the government, private, semi-government and autonomous offices have to cut off the capacity by 50 per cent maintaining health guidelines.
Rest of the employees will stay at home and perform the official activities virtually (e-file, e-tendering, SMS, WhatsApp).
The Supreme Court will give necessary directives about the judiciary, the notification read.
Besides, Bangladesh Bank and other financial departments will take decisions regarding banks, insurance and financial institutions.
Earlier on Friday, another gazette notification was issued with five directives. Cabinet division joint secretary Md. Sabirul Islam signed on the notification.
The country has been experiencing a sharp rise of coronavirus infection in recent weeks forcing the authorities to close educational institutions for 14 days.
On Sunday, Bangladesh registered 14 more Covid-linked deaths with 10 thousand 906 fresh cases in 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate increased to 31.29 per cent from Saturday’s 28.02 per cent after testing 35 thousand 51 samples, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
