On Sunday (September 5), three people were killed and several other injured when a train ploughed into a microbus at a level crossing in Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar.
Among the three deceased one was an infant, and all three microbus passengers died on spot. However, the deceased could not be identified yet.
According to the witnesses, the Sylhet bound intercity train Parabat expressed rammed into a microbus loaded with passengers when it was crossing the railway tracks this afternoon.
The incident took place around 1:00 pm at the Hossainpur crossing, under Bhatera union, witnesses told the media.
The others injured were rescued by locals and rushed to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
The accident was confirmed to the press by the Officer In-Charge (OC) of Kulaura police station Binoy Bhushan Roy and the station master of Kulaura Railway Station Muhibur Rahman.
