Three children died after being hit by a train under the Mohakhali flyover in the capital. Their age is approximately 12 to 13 years. Their identity is not yet known.
The accident happened on Saturday around 6:30 to 7:00 am.
In-charge of Dhaka Railway Thana Airport Police Outpost, Mr. Sunil Chandra Sutradhar confirmed the matter and said that in the morning those children were walking from south to north along the railway line in front of pillar No. 270 under Mohakhali flyover bridge. At that time, they inadvertently fell under the Jamalpur-bound Dewanganj commuter train leaving from Kamalapur.
He said that they fell under the train and died on the spot. They have not been identified. It is assumed that they are street children. Their bodies were recovered from the spot after receiving information.
After completing the legal process, the bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) morgue in the evening for post-mortem.
