In a bid to curb the transmission of Covid-19 infections, railway authorities have decided to oprate at 50 percent passenger capacity.
The decision will come into effect starting January 15.
Bangladesh Railway (BR) will sell 25 percent of its tickets through its mobile phone app or online and 25 percent tickets will be available at the station counters.
The matter was confirmed by Railway officials to various media.
The changes in the railway operations comes following the new Covid-19 restrictions issued by the government.
They also added that no tickets will be sold for standing commutes, and mask mandate will be ensured.
