The government won’t take responsibility for the e-commerce victims in the country, said Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi.
He was replying to queries of journalists after opening a commercial outlet at Golden Tower in Rangpur city on Friday (October 8).
“There are at least 20 thousand e-commerce sites in the country. Many people are involved in this business process. Customers were harmed while buying products at fewer prices. They didn’t inform the matter of the government. Why the government would take their responsibility?” the minister said.
“However the government is working against those companies which have been found guilty of misappropriation and fraudulence. The government wants that e-commerce sites to do well. Allegations have been raised against 10-12 companies. Investigations are underway,” he furthered.
