The High Court has ordered authorities to submit all documents collected by various government agencies related to the investigations into the malpractices by the online market.
The bench headed by Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar gave the order on Thursday after hearing a petition by Evaly customer.
The customer, whose products were not delivered five months after making the orders through the e-commerce platform, moved the High Court after his complaints filed with the Bangladesh Bank, e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh and Consumer Rights Protection Council failed to fetch a response.
Following an initial hearing on September 22, the court imposed a moratorium on the sale or transfer of all assets of the scam-tainted company. It also issued a rule at that time asking why the company should not be liquidated.
In the petition, Evaly Limited, Registrar of Joint Stock Companies And Firms (RJSC), Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit, Consumer Rights Protection Council, Bkash, Nagad, Bangladesh Competition Commission, e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information (Basis), Bangladesh Bank and Commerce Secretary were made defendants.
