The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has initiated the budget preparation process for the fiscal year 2024-25 (FY25) as it has sought budget proposals from different trade bodies, and other relevant stakeholders including professional organizations, research firms, intellectuals and taxpayers from all strata.
The revenue board has asked all the chambers and trade associations to send their budget proposals before the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the country`s apex trade body, by February 4. Side by side, it has also requested all concerned to send soft copies of those to the NBR.
According to a press release of the NBR, the concerned trade bodies and associations will send their budget proposals to the FBCCI side by side send soft copies of those through email of the NBR which is nbrbudget2024@gmail.com. Besides, those who are not the members of different chambers and associations would also be able to send their budget proposals directly or through email.
Apart from these, any individual can also send his or her budget proposals directly to the NBR or through email.
The NBR said it wants to frame a more public-oriented, taxpayer friendly, business friendly, and representative budget for which budget proposals are being sought from various organizations and also at individual level.
