Advisory council approves second amendment to public service ordinance

The Advisory Council has granted approval to the Public Service (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025.

The decision was made during a meeting held on Thursday (3 July) at the office of the Chief Adviser, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Mohammad Yunus, according to the Cabinet Division.

Following legal vetting by the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, the ordinance will receive its final approval.

In addition to the ordinance, the meeting approved a proposal to officially designate December 3 as International and National Day of Persons with Disabilities, replacing the previous date of March 15.

This day will be classified under category "B" of national observances. The council also approved April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day.

Furthermore, the meeting endorsed a proposal for Bangladesh to sign the Constitution of the OIC Labour Center.

It also approved a proposal to sign the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management, adopted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on September 5, 1997.

This move aims to enhance safety in the management of nuclear fuel and radioactive waste.

These decisions are part of broader efforts by the interim government to align national policies with international standards while addressing key governance, labor, and public service reforms.
