The US delegation has said they want to see a "free, fair and violence-free" election, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Thursday, reports UNB.
“We told the US delegation that law enforcement is ready and will work with the Election Commission during the polls,” he told reporters after the US delegation led by Under Secretary Uzra Zeya held a meeting with him.
“The delegation also reiterated that they did not come here to support any political party; rather, all they want to see is a free, fair, and violence-free election in the country,” the minister said.
The delegation also includedUS Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu.
The US delegation has also assured cooperation in the repatriation of the Rohingyas, added the home minister.
