Class XI admission applications open September 2

The admission policy for Class XI at colleges and equivalent institutions for the 2026–27 academic year has been published. Applications will open on September 2 and remain open until September 10. Classes for the new academic year will begin on September 23.

The Ministry of Education’s Secondary and Higher Education Division published the policy on Monday (August 24).

According to the policy, 93% of the total seats at colleges and equivalent institutions will remain open to all students. Admission to these seats will be based on merit.

Another 2% of seats will be reserved for the children of officials and employees working at the Ministry of Education and its subordinate departments and agencies. Of these, 1% will be reserved for children of ministry employees and 1% for children of employees of departments and agencies under the ministry. Eligible applicants will receive this quota at educational institutions in metropolitan areas, divisional cities and district headquarters, subject to meeting the minimum admission requirements.

If the number of applicants for the reserved seats exceeds the available seats, students will be selected on the basis of merit among eligible applicants.

To apply under this quota, the concerned official or employee must submit a certificate issued by the head of their office. If the applicant is the head of the office, the certificate must be issued by an official one level above them.

In addition, 5% of seats will be reserved for the sons and daughters of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters.

Applicants seeking admission under this quota must submit an attested copy of the relevant proof or gazette notification with their application. The original documents must be produced at the time of admission.

Under the policy, admission of children of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters must be completed after proper verification of the freedom fighter certificate issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.

If no eligible sons or daughters of freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters are available for the reserved seats, the seats must be filled from the merit list. The seats cannot be left vacant under any circumstances.
