ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Monday said the Bangladesh-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor will create new opportunities for cooperation in education and research between the two countries.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the second phase of the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships and the Pakistan Education Expo 2026 at a hotel in Dhaka.

The event was organised by the Pakistan High Commission in Bangladesh in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Representatives from 20 Pakistani universities and educational institutions joined the expo to showcase higher education and scholarship opportunities for Bangladeshi students.

Milon said educational relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan are becoming stronger and expressed hope for greater cooperation in research and teacher training in the future.

He also praised the scholarship programme, saying it allows Bangladeshi students to pursue higher studies in Pakistan without major educational expenses.

Pakistani High Commissioner Imran Haider described the initiative as an important step toward building stronger academic ties between the two countries.

Officials said the programme aims to provide scholarships to 500 Bangladeshi students over the next five years.

Under the first phase of the initiative, 74 Bangladeshi students have already been selected for higher studies in Pakistan.
