Security measures will be strengthened ahead of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Central Student Union (SUCSU) election, scheduled to be held on January 20.

Assistant Proctor Professor Dr Saiful Islam shared this information during a views-exchange meeting at the Proctor’s Office on Sunday.

He said that more than 300 members of the police and the Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) will be deployed to maintain law and order during the election.

Special security teams will be placed at the main gate, pocket gates and other important points across the campus. To ensure smooth movement, vehicles will not be allowed inside the campus, except rickshaws, auto-rickshaws and cars with official university stickers.

Dr Saiful Islam also added that a medical team will remain on standby throughout the election to handle any emergency.
