One more death from dengue reported in 24 hours till Sunday morning, bringing the total number of deaths from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh this year to 14.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, 32 more patients were admitted to hospital with viral fever during this time period.
Eight of them were hospitalized in Dhaka, while others were treated outside the capital.
There have been 853 dengue cases registered since January 1, 2024.
Last year, 1,705 people died from dengue, making it the deadliest year on record. The DGHS recorded 321,179 dengue cases and 3,18,749 recoveries last year.
According to DGHS data, the deadliest month for the dengue outbreak was September of last year, with 396 fatalities and 79,598 cases.
