18 people lost their lives as passenger bus plunges into ditch in western Mexico. 33 people were injured in this incident. Most of the victims were women.

According to the report, this accident happened last Saturday night in Nayarit province of the country. The bus fell 49 feet down while traveling on a highway connecting the provincial capital Tepic and tourist destination Puerto Vallarta. 11 of the 18 killed in the accident were women. Apart from this, at least 11 children injured in the accident have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
Civil protection official, Pedro Nunez said that the bus carrying tourists was traveling from Guadalajara in the nearby state of Jalisco to the seaside resort area of Guayabitos in Nayarit when it veered off the road. All the passengers on the bus were Mexican nationals.
