Israeli military actions have escalated in the Middle East, with airstrikes resulting in a tragic loss of life.

On Saturday, Israeli forces launched an attack on Lebanon, killing at least seven people.

The attack has sparked fears that a ceasefire agreement, which had been holding for four months between Israel and Hezbollah, may now be in jeopardy.

This was reported by Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera.

The escalation follows an incident earlier in the day, when Israel‍‍`s military intercepted three rockets that had been fired from a district located roughly six kilometers north of the Lebanese border.

Israel’s airstrikes on Lebanon are believed to be in retaliation, but Lebanon’s armed group Hezbollah has not yet issued any comments regarding the attacks or the rocket fire into Israel.

In a parallel escalation, Israeli forces continue to target Gaza, where the death toll has reached at least 34 Palestinians since Saturday morning. Among the victims are five children from Gaza City, as reported by Al Jazeera.

The rest of the casualties include people from various districts: 9 from Tufah, 2 from Zeitoun, 2 from Al-Moghraqa, 2 from the Netzarim Corridor, 6 from Beit Lahiya, 1 from Deir El-Balah, and 2 from Khan Yunis.

The Gaza Ministry of Health shared alarming statistics, revealing that over the past 18 months of ongoing conflict, Israeli airstrikes have killed 49,747 Palestinians and injured 113,213 others.

Furthermore, Gaza’s government media office warned that thousands remain trapped beneath the rubble, presumed dead. As a result, the total death toll could exceed 61,700.

The tragic events in both Lebanon and Gaza are contributing to rising fears of further regional instability, as both sides of the conflict show no signs of backing down.
