Iran’s state television reported on Sunday that several top military leaders were killed in US and Israeli strikes on the country on Saturday, including armed forces Chief of Staff Abdolrahim Mousavi.
State TV said Mousavi was killed along with Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, Revolutionary Guards chief Mohammad Pakpour, and head of the Defence Council Ali Shamkhani during the strikes.
It also described Pakpour as Iran’s Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guard, Shamkhani as Advisor to the Supreme Leader of the Armed Forces and Secretary of the Defense Council, and Nasirzadeh as Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.
