Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said the country will never surrender, rejecting US President Donald Trump’s demand for “unconditional surrender” as Tehran continues launching drones and missiles toward Israel and other targets in the Gulf region.
The conflict, triggered by joint US and Israeli military operations against Iran, entered its second week with no sign of easing.
Trump warned that Iran could face “very hard” strikes if hostilities continue.
He also claimed that Iran had effectively “surrendered” to neighbouring countries after Pezeshkian stated that Iranian forces would not target regional states unless attacks against Iran originated from their territories.
However, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned that all US and Israeli military bases and interests would be considered “primary targets” if attacks on Iran persist.
Meanwhile, Israeli air and ground assaults on the Lebanese town of Nabi Chit in the eastern Bekaa Valley killed at least 41 people, according to local reports.
In the Gulf region, Saudi Arabia said it intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles heading toward Prince Sultan Air Base, along with drones targeting the Shaybah oilfield.
