At least 95 Palestinians were killed on Monday as Israeli airstrikes pounded multiple civilian areas across Gaza, including a seaside café, a school sheltering displaced families, a food distribution site, and the courtyard of a hospital.

The attacks mark one of the deadliest days in recent weeks amid the ongoing war, which has now persisted for more than 630 days.

According to local health officials, 62 of the fatalities occurred in Gaza City and northern Gaza, with 39 people killed in a single strike on Al-Baqa Café in northern Gaza City.

Among the dead were women, children, and journalist Ismail Abu Hatab. Witnesses said the café, which was hosting a birthday gathering, was flattened without warning by Israeli fighter jets.

“We found people torn apart,” said Yahya Sharif, a local witness. “This place wasn’t affiliated with anyone—no politics, no military. It was full of children.” Al Jazeera’s Gaza correspondent described the scene as soaked in blood, with remains of the victims scattered due to the intensity of the blast.

Later in the day, another airstrike hit a food distribution warehouse in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, killing at least 13 Palestinians who had gathered to collect aid.

In a separate attack, the Yafa School in Gaza City—used as a shelter for hundreds of displaced civilians—was bombed after residents reportedly received only five minutes’ notice to evacuate. “We don’t know where to go,” said Hamada Abu Jaradeh, who had fled just before the bombing. “Death is with us and around us every day.”

Central Gaza was not spared, as Israeli forces attacked the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah. The hospital had become a refuge for thousands of displaced families.

Video footage verified by Al Jazeera showed tents damaged and people fleeing in panic. The explosion occurred approximately 10 meters from a media broadcast point.

“This is not the first time the hospital has been attacked,” said Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum. “This facility has been targeted at least 10 times, placing immense pressure on Gaza’s already overwhelmed healthcare infrastructure.”

In a statement, Gaza’s Government Media Office condemned the attack, labeling it a “systematic crime” against the health sector.

“Israeli warplanes bombed a tent for the displaced inside the hospital walls, causing injuries, material damage, and endangering dozens of patients,” the statement said.

Since the war began, Israeli airstrikes have repeatedly targeted hospitals and medical facilities across the Gaza Strip. Human rights organizations and UN-affiliated experts have accused Israel of deliberately dismantling the enclave’s healthcare system through repeated strikes on civilian and humanitarian infrastructure.

The latest surge in attacks has intensified global outrage, as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to deepen with no clear resolution in sight.
