Saudi Arabia`s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has warned pilgrims traveling for Umrah not to bring specific prohibited items with them.
This decision, which aims to maintain safety and order, was reported by Gulf News, a media outlet based in the United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday.
According to the Saudi authorities, items such as lasers, fireworks, counterfeit currency, and unregistered medications are strictly forbidden.
Pilgrims are advised to double-check that they are not carrying any of these banned items before entering Saudi Arabia.
The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority of Saudi Arabia has also recommended that travelers visit their official website to get the full list of prohibited items, to avoid any issues.
While Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage that takes place once a year, Umrah can be performed any time throughout the year.
However, during Ramadan, the number of people performing Umrah increases significantly. Pilgrims travel to Mecca from not only different regions of Saudi Arabia but also from all around the world.
Saudi authorities are working to ensure that the Umrah experience is smooth, safe, and free from disruptions.
